While the upshift lever can shift up to three cogs at once, the downshift lever does one gear at a time. this isn’t the “big dump” you can do with Multi-Shift, but it has a more comfortable and easily-accessed shift button on the inside of the lever body. Rather than standing out like the buttons of old, this is lower, closer to the body, at the end of a longer lever. The result is it’s easier to reach, easier to activate, and results in fast shifts. The hood and lever ergonomics are otherwise identical with the Chorus, Record, and Super Record Ergo levers you already know. They hoods are comfortable in the hand by design, and their comfort has been increased, thanks to the multi-density Vari-Cushion hoods, which are not only comfy, but are designed to drain water away when wet. The brake levers themselves have two curves in them, making them easy to reach from the hoods or drops. What you won’t see, except when you’re installing, is a new shape where the levers meet the bars. There are a wider variety of handlebar bends these days, and the shape works better with all of them. These controls are also cross compatible with Chorus, Record, and Super Record mechanical Ergopower. Finding replacements and upgrading is thus much easier. The Potenza Eleven Speed Ergopower Controls come in two finishes, one has Black brake lever blades and one has Silver brake lever blades. Weight is 372g for the set.
